Report on the
Performance of the Organization for the Protection and Assistance of
Socially Disadvantaged Individuals (Revival of Values)
Year 1380 (2000 and
2001)
The Organization for the Protection and
Assistance of Socially Disadvantaged Individuals is a non-governmental and
non-profit organization. The main objective of this Organization is to
prevent and intervene in crisis and control of social disorders. The
founders of this Organization believe that prevention and control of
social disorders support human dignity and strengthening the family,
nation and government ability to meet its own needs.
According to the constitution of
organization, this Organization uses four general guidelines for achieving
its objectives:
1- Knowledge therapy and information dissemination in the
society
2- Activating different strata of the people for control of social
disadvantageous
3- Effort toward coordinating public, governmental and international
activities
4- Scientific study and
research on the disorders and prevention methods, timely intervention in
crisis and control of social disorders.
In order to fulfill these guidelines, the
Organization has enjoyed
the services and assistance of the experts, university professors,
researchers, artists, non-governmental and charitable organizations, the
government of the Islamic Republic and private companies. Considering the
mission, objectives and general guidelines , the report of the performance
of the Organization during year 1380 A.H. is presented.
Executive Activities inside the
Organization:
1-
Holding weekly sessions of the board of secretaries
participated by the regular members and volunteer experts . In these
sessions , executive solutions and plans for accurate treatment of the
problems prevailing the society were discussed in addition to the report
on the current activities of the Organization. Discussing issues which
have been neglected in the society and manner of dealing with them by the
use of different means were among the other topics discussed in the
meetings the results of which are included in clauses 2 to
4.

Compiling five research, educational and treatment
plans after continuous discussions and studies and submitting the plans to
governmental organizations and academic centers for executive
support:
2-1- project for the
study of the effect of educating dispute settlement and constructive
methods of establishing inter-personal relations on the guidelines for
combating stress and improving mental health of women
2-2- project for
educating trained mental hygienists for implementation of game therapy
programs in dramatic method
2-3- project for study of prostitution in
Tehran city
2-4- therapeutic project for facing the
woman abuse beliefs
2-5- educational project of woman
rights
2- convening three educational/ counseling workshops and three public
meetings in the venue of the Organization for the follow up of the
objectives of the Organization under the following
titles:
3-1- the meeting of “ creative education,
the questioning generation and control of injuries” (May 2001)
3-2- the educational workshop of “leisure
time, social health” (June 2001)
3-3- the counseling workshop of “
definition of the position of house among civil institutions” (with the
collaboration of the Organization for Protection of Handicapped Children
and Youth) (August 2001)
3-4- the educational
workshop of “sexual abuse of children” ( November 2001)
3-5- the meeting of “
sustained education and its effects on the society” ( February
2002)
3-6- the meeting of “
definition of the manner of interaction of government and N.G.Os” (March
2002)
It is worth mentioning that the
participants in the said workshops and meetings were all experts,
connoisseurs and government or non-government officials whose field of
activity has been related to the subject matter of the workshop in one way
or another. There were about 70 main participants and 50 supervisors in
each workshop on average. The average number of participants in each
meeting was about 120 persons.
3- Preparing detailed report on the workshops and sending them to
governmental and non-governmental organizations and publication among the
interested people.
4- Execution of the plan for the support of 1200 families of Afghan
refugees and lonely Afghan women, with the participation of
UNHCR.
5- Execution of the plan for the support of families with critical
conditions through financial assistance to more than 200 unprivileged
families during March and April 2001.
Executive Activities outside the
Organization:
1- more than 20
lecturing sessions on honorary basis in South Tehran schools and giving
group counseling advice to the families in order to prevent and decrease
social disadvantageous
2- Supporting the formation of
non-governmental organizations in Sanandaj, Baneh, Ahwaz,…
3- performance of common programs with other N.G.O.
s:
3-1- preparing a statement for supporting
peace and negating war after the events of September the 11th
and the Afghanistan events
3-2- holding ceremony and convening
educational workshop on the Universal Day of Human Rights (Dec.
10,2001)
3-3- cooperating with the Ministry of
Interior and a number of N.G.O. s in order to compile a legal bill for
N.G.O.s to be proposed to the Islamic Consultative Assembly.
3-4- participation with a number of N.G.O.
s in convening the workshop for the study of Afghanistan
problems
3-5-participation with a number of N.G.O s
in order to define the relations between the government and the N.G.O.
s
4- cooperation with different organizations, centers and
organizations in line with the objectives of the Organization which
include:

preparing and sending articles and essays to the
reputable dailies and periodicals of the country on the problems related
to social disorders.
6- cooperating with mass
media in preparing reports and documentary films and interview with news
agencies on social disorders.
7- Active participation in
gatherings, educational workshops and scientific seminars relevant to the
objectives of the Organization.
